Late last year, after retiring as TeslaCon’s “official steampunk orchestra,” Vardo announced that we would begin touring in 2020. Maestro Chad Canfield has invested an incredible amount of time, effort, and finances into making this dream a reality.
Then it happened... 2020 was struck with disaster after disaster. From family and friends’ passing, to a car accident, to the world spinning into chaos due to the coronavirus.
Maestro purchased and owns nearly every piece of Vardo’s live-performance, recording, and touring equipment, and has been storing everything in his studio. This has made it very difficult to complete our recordings, as for every session, Maestro has to shuffle everything around to accommodate for the space needed for each session.
What we need is a temporary, climate-controlled storage unit to house our larger pieces of equipment (organs, harpsichord, timpani, concert bass drums, drum kits, xylophone, etc...), so that Maestro can move forward with production of the only thing we have left to bring income to our families: recordings of our unreleased music.
Maestro has been doing some remodeling and making modifications to the studio to help bring the best production possible. He has also been working hard to complete several film scores and releases from other projects (Toma, Richard Cranium, etc...) to help bring in funds for his family needs. He is having a difficult time doing all of this by himself, as he and his wife are being especially cautious, and not hosting anyone in their space to help keep their two-year-old son safe from the virus.
We’re not asking for much, just a few months to safely store our equipment, so that we can bring you something special; something to help get you through these next few months as well. After nearly a year of cabin fever, this winter is going to be especially tough for many, and we would love to help bring some joy and light into these dark times.
Any additional funds raised will go towards funding our studio renovations and completing our live-stream performance space, from where we can bring live music straight to your home!
