This is a gofundme set up for my son Alex Schulte, who is a 14yr old 8th grade student at Hayes Middle School in Grand Ledge, MI. Alex has been spending his time off from school producing medical front line PPE accessories during this difficult time of Covid-19.
We have been asked several times how someone can contribute to the cost of filament and supplies to produce these items. We decided to set up this account to help him cover his supplies, shipping costs and maintenance to his 3D printing equipment. Alex already has orders shipping to Grand Rapids, and an order shipping to New York City for a travel RN from our area, to share with her coworkers there.
Alex is mainly producing the behind the head surgical mask supports, that help keep healthcare workers ears from being irritated by constant mask wear. This was an idea that was shared on Facebook, complete with a file to use to create the item. This was shared by a young man named Quinn, who is a boy scout from Canada. Quinn invited anyone seeing his post to join the effort and help the community.
Alex has a kind heart, and has an eagerness to help others. In his spare time he enjoys robotics, building things, he plays trombone in his school band, and most recently he has began guitar lessons. Alex also loves his German Shepard named Bella.
