Danny van Winkle and Susie Gaylord of Vancouver, WA are the parents of 2 young daughters, ages 15 and 9. This family of 4 lost everything they own in a fire at their Rose Village home Friday, Dec 12th, 2014. They barely made it out alive. They need to start from scratch. The Rose Village neighborhood has come together to get donations for clothing and basic necessities. They are also in a hotel for 3 days thanks to The Red Cross.
After the 3 days, they will be homeless. And just before Christmas. This campaign is to raise money for the family to be able to rent a place and get whatever they need to live. This includes temporary (motel) housing as well as a permanent home, furniture, food, clothes, toiletries, etc.
My name is Brandy and I am a neighbor who witnessed the fire from my home just a block away. Their youngest daughter is friends with my daughters and that Is how I met the family. I can not begin to understand the loss that they are going through right now and though I can not contribute financially myself, I can contribute my time and efforts to try and obtain as much as I can to that they need from various sources at my dispose. Thank you to the neighbors who have already assisted via Nextdoor.com as well as anyone else who has selflessly given to help them in this crisis. Without you all, none of this would be possible.
