Hello again! China has called me again, and this time I have the best partner I could have asked for coming with me!
In April 2018, Justin and I will BOTH be traveling to China to volunteer at Shepherd's Field Children's Village (SFCV) - the same children's home I visited in 2016. And it's even more than just the two of us. This time around I am leading a team of 15 people to Tianjin to care for the children there for a week. I am beyond thrilled at the number of people who are willing to join me on this adventure!
Since I know you will all ask - no, Justin and I are not going there to pick up a child. No, we have not secretly been undergoing an adoption process. However, we have been diligently researching adoption - both Biblically and legistically - and we are hoping to hear God clearly through this trip what His will is for us in that regards. But until then, our focus is this trip and all the opportunities it will allow.
Financially, we have set a goal for each team member to raise $2,000. This will cover nearly all expenses - visa, flight, lunch and dinner each day, taxi services - and then some. Extra funds will be used to purchase supplies which we will bring with us to SFCV. There are many things that are either cheaper or more readily available in the US that SFCV needs for their children.
If you are not able to support us financially, you can always pray for us! This trip will be much more complicated than the first trip as I am leading a larger group. Please pray for...
1. The planning process - passport and visa applications, fundraising, flights purchases, etc.
2. Safety
3. Energy - Time differences affect us all differently!
4. Patience - With one another, potential setbacks, the language barrier, etc.
