Vani for National American Miss

Hello my name is Vani Sharma,

As a 2017 Pre-teen talent winner and the 3rd runner up for the State of Indiana at the National American Miss pageant held at Indianapolis, Indiana, my journey has been very amazing!  I was involved in several community service projects including preparing and serving meals with my mother for families living in Riley Hospital for Children.  National American Miss teaches young girls important skills and positive values such as interview preparation, the importance of community service, and the art of public speaking.  I realized that this pageant was not about the physical beauty but about the beautiful person we all become when we help the people in need.  My achievements at the State level have given me the opportunity to compete at the National level taking place at Anaheim, CA during Thanksgiving week.  I will be competing against the entire country with over 3000 participants expected.  I am proud and honored to represent the State of Indiana.  My local service projects will include partnering with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in making get well cards and capes for Super Hero Project.  An organization by the name Divyahrudayashram in India has deeply moved me with the services they are doing.  This organization is dedicated to helping the mentally disabled and underprivileged children in India.  I learned about this organization since both my grandfather and father have been donating and contributing to this for several years now.  I would also like to help these kids by making a monetary contribution to either educate a child or pay medical treatment costs for a mentally disabled child or both depending on the funds I am able to raise.  I am hoping to raise $4500 by Oct 15, 2017 to help defray the costs of this once-in-a-lifetime experience and help fund my service project goals.  I would be grateful and honored if you would partner with me in this journey to make this happen.  Any amount donated would be greatly appreciated, as well as words of encouragement.  So Please!
