Reaching out for financial help from the public is never an easy thing to do. But our family is desperately asking for your help to give our sister and daughter a second chance at life.
My name is Amanda and I am Vanessas little sister.
First let me tell you about Vanessa. She is 41 years old, single with one very cute fur baby. As you can see from her picture she is full of life and a smile that lights up the room. No one can make me laugh like Vanessa.
What you don't see is the scars and the hurt that lies inside of her.
She has battled her whole life with mental health issues and addiction caused by abuse she endured during childhood.
Vanessa has tried her whole life to live with the trauma and scars but she can't do it anymore.
We, as a family, have done all we can to help her. However we realize the best way to help her to overcome all these issues is for her to attend Aurora Recovery Centre in Manitoba, one of the best facilities in Canada. Here she will be properly diagnosed for her mental health issues(to date she has not been diagnosed,only prescribed drugs) she will receive counselling and therapy to heal the trauma from childhood that is feeding the addiction and mental health issues as well as teaching her new coping skills and healthy daily habits. This is a 30 day inpatient program, with life long counselling via telephone and Skype whenever she needs it. The cost is $18000 plus the cost of her flight from Toronto to Winnipeg and back.
This really is the only hope for Vanessa.
Vanessa is right now in a detox program for 3- 5 days. It is my hope to raise enough money to pick her up from the detox program and get her on a plane to Manitoba right away. If she comes out of detox and isn't on the plane she will relapse and go backwards. We have to keep going forward and continue the healing process.
