Vanessa vs. Lung Cancer

On July 26th Vanessa age 26 was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer found in young adults who have never smoked. On August 8th a team of specialists at Stanford determined the cancer is a non small cell lung cancer called Adenocarcinoma. This type of cancer is genetic and Vanessa's disease is stage 4 with no cure. As of now what doctors can do is target the specific gene and control the cancer. There are treatments available to keep the cancer stabilized, at this point we don't know if it will be a pill form or chemotherapy. Since it is a gene unfortunately she is not a candidate for surgery or a transplant.
With all that being said, our family life has been turned upside down and all our focus is on keeping Vanessa healthy and here for a long time! Vanessa has two little girls (7) and (2) who NEED their Mom!
Co-Pay's, travel, trials, loss wages can get very expensive for cancer patients. Vanessa's family would like to reach out to our friends and community for any support that is feasible for you.
