Van Losee Medical Fund

Van Alan Losee was an incredible man, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He managed to touch the lives of everyone he met and had a kindness about him that people could sense. He was the type of man to give the shirt off his back, lend a helping hand whenever he could, and, if he could help it, never ever let anyone go without. He always put others before himself and never let his family forget that they were his priority.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Van could easily see that he was one of the most hard-working men. In spite of his COPD diagnosis in 2009 he continued working until he was forced by his increasing need for additional oxygen and job regulations to finally stop working in 2013. Not only did he lose the family’s main source of income, but he lost his insurance coverage as well and it took nearly 2 years until disability  insurance began, which left his family paying for medical treatment out of pocket. The past few months Van’s condition was worsening. On August 3rd, 2017, Van went in for his four-month check up and was admitted to the hospital for tests to find the reason for his severely depleting condition. The next day, Van was diagnosed with Leukemia. For three weeks Van fought his hardest with more strength and conviction than anyone could imagine combined with love, support, and prayers of his family and so many who cared. But on August 22nd, 2017, Van Losee had passed away.

Van was truly one of the most generous and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  We will always remember him as the giving man who never lost sight of what was important during his entire fight. Van’s family appreciates the love and support from everyone, and would be so grateful for any help they can get to cover the costs of this tragic loss. I know that not everyone can donate, but the simple act of sharing or giving a few dollars would truly mean the world. Thank you so much for your support and please, join me in hugging our loved ones a little tighter from now on.
