Valerie Hicks was born August 22, 1980 to Charles and Ophelia Hicks. She came to fulfill the warmest wishes of her big brother Charles “Kenyatta” Hicks, in his desire to have a little sister. “Val” was the most adorable little girl and loved being around her family. (Mom, Dad, brother, aunts, uncles, and cousins).
Val very much loved LIFE. She had the most beautiful smile and her laugh was infectious to anyone who was near her. Her heart was equally as large as her smile, as she always sought to make certain that everyone around her was okay and that their needs were met.
From an early age, Val always loved children, so it came as no surprise to anyone when the love of her life was born. Jessel! Her son, nephew, and host of god-children are a reflection of how much she was loved by all those who came into contact with her.
Rest in peace, dear sweet angel, your work on earth is now complete. God sent you for a season and now you can be at rest. We LOVE you and pray to see you again in heaven.

Our airline family lost a beautiful soul on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Valerie Hicks was not only our co-worker, she was also our friend. We loved her. Everyone she came in contact with loved her. We didn't hold the monopoly on that. She passed away unexpectedly and left behind her precious 4 year old son, Jessel.
This Go Fund Me Memorial is being set up by her airline family to help assist Val's family, ensuring that her son has a bright future. It is our hope that through this campaign, one day Jessel will understand what an inspiration his Mom was to others and that he will be able to see how many lives she touched.
All donations will be given to the Hick's family, to use toward Jessel's upbringing and education.
