Valerie Barnes

Valerie has been diagnosed with a rare carcinoid tumor. One day back in May she was at work and not feeling well, thank God Sergeant Young noticed how out of sorts she looked and he had Deputy Brandt escort her to the emergency room. Her chest X-ray revealed a growth in her lung. After many tests and meetings with doctors the tumor board decided it needs to come out. Her surgery is scheduled for August 10th. As you can imagine this has been quite a shock for Val and her family. They have had their hands full with medical tests and doctor visits. She will be out of work for at least 3 months, we feel the need to start something to help alleviate the financial stress so she can focus on treatment and healing. The money donated will be used to pay for expenses not covered by insurance, her son Nate's high school tuition and to help with daily living expenses.
