As Christmas approaches a group of Aerocare employees has selected a family in need of help to make their holiday season special. With the family’s permission we share their story.
Many of you might be familiar with this family as Aerocare has flown Ryan Valenzuela over 20 times to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for treatments. Ryan is a twin boy that needs constant care around the clock and needs a nurse at home. The twins were born at 32 weeks premature and Ryan has Pierre Robin Syndrome. Ryan’s mom is a teacher and was his caregiver before she got sick. Last year she developed ovarian cancer. Recently the dad was let go of his job of 14 years due to excessive time off due to family medical absences; he has a job now at ¼ of salary. The family resides in Chandler, AZ.
We have asked the family to give us a Christmas list and below you will find their response. In the event we go over the amount to buy the gift the remainder funds will be sent to the family.
“We can't thank all the amazing people at Aerocare - for wanting to make our Christmas so special!! We are very grateful!!!!! We've literally have spent hours trying to think of things the boys might want/need. We were thinking it might be best to do a joint gift for the boys. It's actually really hard thinking of things for Ryan since he's no longer mobile and he's only been playing with his giraffe, elephant and teddy bear & puppy stuffed animals and watching PBS on his communication device/ipad. Anthony has asked for only one gift this year - but it's really expensive - The Nintendo Switch w/Mario Kart Odyssey. We were thinking maybe it could be for both of them, It's something they could possibly do together and we could take it to Philadelphia. If it's too expensive, we completely understand and will come up with another idea. Just let me know. Thanks!!!”
