VacCorps:Mobilizing volunteers to control COVID-19

VacCorps  mobilizes volunteer vaccine workers to control the COVID-19 pandemic in North Carolina. We are currently nearing 1000 volunteers signed up across the state! Check us out at https://vaccorps.org/

We connect non-traditional vaccinators, health science and laboratory personnel, and other volunteer support staff to vaccination providers and centers. By mobilizing volunteers as support staff, vaccination providers can increase capacity without further taxing the healthcare system that is providing care for COVID-19 patients. Of particular importance, our platform will connect the pool of volunteers across counties such that underserved communities have access to vaccinations support staff.

This first round of fundraising will pay for background checks for each of our volunteers ($20 each) and several operating expenses that we need to cover (website, contract attorney fees, incorporation and IRS fees, graphic design fees, etc. totaling about $3000 so far). We are not yet a 501(c)3 but have applied and should receive that designation soon.

Here we are at our very first volunteer deployment to a vaccination clinic in Durham, NC on February 25th with volunteers Abigail and John.
