Hi! We are Lindsey Winzeler, Alex Debure, and Stella Ropova, students at Saint Petersburg High School. We are on a mission to promote women's health on both a local and global scale. For the global portion, we have set up a project with a clinic in Tafi Atome, Ghana that Alex's dad and his students have worked with over the course of the past few years. The medical staff at the clinic has chosen for us to organize a women's health week when we travel to the village of Tafi Atome in March of 2018. During that week, we and the staff hope to screen women in the area for cervical cancer, as well as aid women financially to purchase vaccines if they test negative. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer for women in impoverished villages, including Tafi Atome. We hope to raise enough money to purchase the EVA system, a portable cancer screening device, which normally costs about $4,000. However, after talking to the company that manufactures these devices, they have agreed to provide the machine for our project if we can raise half that amount.
We need your help in order to equip the clinic to screen women for cervical cancer, help finance the vaccinations to prevent the cancer in the future, and to make this life-changing plan a reality! Your donations will ensure a healthy life for young girls. Every donation counts and every penny will be put towards a cause that's very close to our hearts. If you are not able to donate, please share so we can reach a larger audience! Thank you for your support.
