Back in October,2019, my son, Dan had a bad toothache. The dentist took x-rays, and proceeded with what they thought was a root canal. As a short time passed, and Dan was not able to tolerate the pain in his face, he pursued another direction for answers.  A probe in his nasal cavity was not able to pass a certain point. A biopsy of the block was ordered. The results, were devestating to all of our family.  RMS cancer is the diagnosis.  Settled in his nasal and jaw region. This would typically be a childhood cancer with more studies and treatments. The adult  type, regrettably, does not.         My son Dan 33, will require 40 weeks of chemo. all tolled. Also,  6 weeks of radiation.      The results were handed to him on 12-23-19, and on 1-2-20, he starts his long jouney with a spinal tap to determine the one of two types it may be.   We are all vying for the embryonic type to be the outcome. Dan will at this time, have a chemo "port" inserted. Dan's wife Kristy, and daughter(4 years old), will have enough to deal with, and your generosity will be going towards: A) Medical Bills B) Brand new house, (first payment made in December) mortgage C) Living, traveling and lodging expenses. D) Misc other expenses that can not be foreseen, because this is all very new to us and rare enough, (400 adults in the last 20 years), to his oncology team, that they will be having to go to CHOP and other studies and sources for reference.   This is very difficult to try and find the right words to reach out to people for finacial help, but it would be a burden that is lifted from his thoughts.       The treatments start immediately, and he will very soon(2-3 weeks) be unable to maintain his job in the capacity he is used to. Kristy will be missing a lot of work due to the frequency of his tretments as well. We will be posting updates as often as we can. All of your thoughts for Dan are welcomed.
