The Midleton Hub is a community-based mental health charity providing low-cost counselling, psychotherapy, and wellbeing supports to children, young people, and adults across Cork and surrounding areas.

Every day, we see first-hand the growing need for accessible mental health support. People come to us experiencing anxiety, grief, trauma, and crisis, many of whom would otherwise have nowhere to turn.

We are currently supporting over 125 active clients, and demand continues to rise.

However, we are now facing a situation we never thought possible. For the first time since opening, we have had to pause new referrals.

This decision has been heartbreaking. Turning people away goes against everything we stand for, but without core funding, we simply cannot continue to stretch our resources beyond capacity.

Many people believe that, as a charity, we receive government or HSE funding. The reality is that we do not receive core funding. We rely on small client contributions, fundraising, grants/funding when available and the generosity of our community to survive.

Our clinical costs alone are approximately €10,000 per month, just to provide sessions to those already in our care.

Without additional support, services like ours are at risk.
