BILLY AND MELISSA NEEDS OUR HELP
Billy Burbidge has suffered a terrible accident.
On Sunday August 13 2017 Billy was helping a customer with a Seadoo, something he does so often for so many people. As he went to start the machine gas started to pour out of the engine and ignited giving him no time to react which then caused the vapour and fuel to explode setting Billy and the machine on fire. Billy then did the best he could to extinguish himself and the machine as quickly as possible.
As a result to this Billy has suffered extensive burns to his hand, arms and face. From his fingernail tips to the underarm on his left side, he has extreme second and third degree burns. His entire face and some of his neck has been burned, and were it not for his facial hair, he would have lost many more layers of skin. His nose, both exterior and interior, has severe damage, as does the side of his face. His left hand suffered the most serious of the damage, with the fear that he may lose his thumb to possible infection. His right arm also was on fire, but thankfully the damage is not as severe as that of his left side.
At this time, Billy is under the influence of strong medication to help manage the severity of his burns and unable to service his customers or provide the necessities needed for his family. It is our hope that you will find it in your hearts to help us to support Billy and his family through this most difficult time. He has been there for all of us, whenever we have had an emergency and now Billy has an emergency and he needs your help and support.
Through your help, you will be allowing Billy the time he needs to heal from this tradgic accident, with the peace of mind that his family will be taken care of while he gets well. Billy does not accept charity lightly or without push back, but he understands the gravity of his condition and respects the doctor’s orders to take the time he needs to heal. He is scheduled to see a plastic surgeon on Thursday and we will keep updating this site with information as it becomes available.
