Lost Everything In Hurricane Harvey

Yesterday my sister and her family lost everything as a result of the devastating floods due to Hurricane Harvey. As her sister I'm asking for donations to help her and her family with vital essentials i.e. Food, clothes, toiletries, and funds for accommodation until further assistance is available. Understandably, help could be a considerable amount of time due to the sheer volume of people in similar situations that are also in need. When they were rescued yesterday afternoon in Dickinson, TX they left with literally nothing, only the clothes on their backs. Their house and vehicles are underwater, as is most of Dickinson, TX. My sister ran a business from her home which was a considerable source of income for the family. Sadly, that has also been destroyed in the flooding. They had only been in the home for two months and were told when they purchased the property that flood insurance wasn't essential due to no floods occurring in the region for over 500 years. Painfully, and as a result, they do not have flood insurance.

On a final note, I just want to THANK EVERYONE who reached out and showed love and concern for my sister and her family yesterday. My sister, myself, and my children will be forever grateful that they left with the most valuable things they could ever leave with and that is their lives!
Our thoughts and prayers also go out to everyone affected by the devastating aftermath of hurricane Harvey.
