Kristin was first diagnosed with breast cancer in April of 2013. The tumor was removed successfully and there were no traces of cancer in the lymph nodes so we were told that she probably wouldn’t even need chemotherapy...WRONG. From the very beginning, nothing has gone as planned or as told to us. Her cancer was sent off for genetic testing and because it had such a high reoccurrence rate, they put Kristin on a chemotherapy plan that was so hard on her system that it seemed to almost killed her. The following year in June of 2014 I was forced out of my job of 27 years just as soon as my LOA ran out. You see, Kristin still hasn’t recovered from her breast cancer, its metastasized to her brain and we didn’t know it. All I know is she is still sick and I am trying to work it out but our NEW HR managers really didn’t care about me and my 27 years of service. So, sinceJune of 2014 I have been paying $1,234.00 per month for Cobra insurance to make sure that my wife doesn’t lose any benefits. Right after Christmas of
>> 2014 Kristin started having horrible headaches so I took her to the ER in Murfreeesboro where they found the original brain tumor. It was already 4cm so they wanted to remove immediately. After her surgery, Kristin went through a clinical trial that put her bedridden once again so they had to stop. She completed her radiation but was not even able to make it to the 3 month scan before we were already seeing signs that possible new tumors were there...new pain, swelling, and confusion so once again back to Vandy for an MRI. This last one they found numerous tumors and want to start whole brain radiation as soon as possible, but I have contacted Cancer Treatment Centers Of America and they are going to fly Kristin and I up to Chicago for 3 days of all new tests, scans and labwork for Kristin. At the end of the 3 days, they will sit down with us and go over their results and their different treatment plans they have to offer. At that time if they can treat her we will be spending time in Chicago. We could use all the help we can. Please help Craig and Kristin in this journey.
