Medical costs for Amanda Byrd

Amanda is a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, etc who is also a nurse at Dayton Children’s Hospital. Amanda’s life was recently turned upside down when she got the diagnosis of
Guillain-Barre Syndrome. She was then hospitalized at OSU for
five infusions of IVIG treatment. Each treatment costs $10,000.
Prognosis is undetermined at this point. Unfortunately it can take weeks to months to see if the IV I G therapy is working. Amanda will be off work for four weeks or longer depending on the outcome and how her body is responding to the medications and therapy. She
will have follow ups in Columbus and possible in Home medication therapy. This is all very costly. Amanda has not worked at Dayton Children’s long enough to receive FMLA so at this point it is undetermined if Amanda will still have her same position whenever she is able to return to work. Any donation would be greatly appreciated as the stress is all starting to take a toll on Amanda. I’m hoping we can all help ease the stress a little. Amanda is dedicated in helping care for others through being a nurse. Let’s all help her take care of herself and family. Prayers appreciated as well
