John Needs Help

I am in trouble and need help. I love giving help, but hate asking for it, I just have no choice right now.  I have a huge medical bill from my recent  hospital adventure. Under normal circumstances I could have handled this, but things are far from normal. I took a financial hit with my career change this year, and was underemployed for a good bit. Of course my little emergency came during my insurance gap from new employment, So I am taking the hit for the full amount. I have exhausted all my options for bill adjustments and reductions or help from OHP.  We can pay our normal bills, but I just don't have the savings to handle a bill of this size. I know it will be impossible to raise the full amount, and many of you are already in a tight spot, but for those who are able, I would truly appreciate any small help you can give. Thank you for spreading the word for me.  Feel free to share this as widely as you care to.
This really brought home how bad health care is in this country. I did get a small reduction, and one night in the hospital without insurance is an almost $6k hit. What middle class family has that much money for an emergency like this. We are careful, frugal, and hard working and it makes me feel so helpless to be in this spot. Love you all.
