MY STORY
I am NoName. I was never given a name. I came from a place that had too many of us in Arkansas, so nobody cared about me. I went to live in New Jersey but I ran away. I have lived alone in the woods for a long time. I ran and ran for...some say...two years, traveling about 180 miles. I wound up in Vermont where I was finally trapped. I guess my owner didn't want me back. I was referred to as feral, whatever that means...and stray. I guess I was kind of unruly because I was scared by being trapped. I'm so hungry and very tired.
Then a nice lady came to see me. She spoke softly to me and petted me and rubbed my belly. She slipped a collar and leash on me so I walked with her to a big van. I got scared and bit the leash but the nice lady told me it was ok. I trusted her. So I got in the big van. We went for a long ride. Then she led me into a big cage with a roof and cushy mat. The nice lady gave me lots of food and took me out for walks to potty. A nice young man talks to me too. I feel safe now. I think they will take care of me and maybe even love me and give me a name. That would make me feel special. I guess I have some diseases that make me feel tired and weak. But I think the nice lady and young man will help me get better.
MY HOPE
I'm told I have heartworm disease, several tick-borne diseases and mange. I have an eye and yeast infection too. They say I am four years old and weigh 85 pounds. I guess that means I'm malnourished and skinny. I hope to be cured of all these awful diseases and infections, but I know it will take time and a whole lot of money because I will have to go to the dog doctor a lot. I want to get stronger with good food so I can begin to heal. After I get stronger, I will have to be spayed too. I know the nice lady and young man will help me. I think their names are Heidi and Hunter and another nice man named Gary.
MY NEEDS
I know it will take about a year for me to recover from all my problems, so my new "family" will need a lot of help because all my treatments will be very expensive. I know they have already spent a lot on the escape-proof kennel, the mats and panels for the roof. I heard Heidi say my medical treatment expenses will cost at least $8000 to get rid of all my diseases. And that doesn't include my food and care for the next year. So this page was set up to help them help me. Some complete strangers have already given money for my treatments and care!
So I am inviting you to follow me and my new "family" during my recovery and asking if you could help them by donating money for my care. I hope I will look better and better in the coming pictures and videos that Heidi and Hunter will post. To anyone and everyone who cared about me, I say Thank You kindly. I know I will be safe and loved now. And then I will be able to give love. Because I am an Anatolian Shepherd Dog.
