Eleven years ago, two teenagers fell in love. Four years later they married, bought a house and adopted several animals. Fast forward three years, their first baby was born. Soon after that, Hudson and Sutton were born.
Finley is a stunning "typical" four year old that started preschool this year. She loves it!
Hudson is a handsome, onery three year old with many diagnosis: Sensory Processing Disorder, Apraxia, Severe Anxiety, ADHD, Selective Mutism, Expressive Language Disorder, Phonological Disorder, and most likely Autism. He stays busy with occupational therapy, speech and counseling. Hudson requires a massive amount of therapy tools just to get through the day.
Sutton is a living, breathing miracle. Our PRECIOUS baby was born 14 weeks early weighting only 2lb 4oz and 14 inches long. Her skin, ears, bottom and privates weren't formed yet. Her eyes were still sealed shut. She fought the hardest fight I've ever seen: respitory distress, sepsis, Meningitis, Hydrocephaus, two holes in her heart, 13 blood transfusions (11 platelets and 2 whole blood), bilateral IVH grade 3, two brain surgeries, failure to thrive, seizures, ROP in both eyes, chronic lung disease, global developmental delays, Apnea of Prematurity, collapsed lungs, gastroperisis, Periventricular Leukomalcia, and Triplegic Cerebral Palsy . She is amazing. Sutton continues her fight with two different Occupational Therapy groups, Physical Therapy, Speech and numerous appointments weekly. A completely wonderful, beautiful miracle. She's my hero.
Needless to say, the debt in our house is astronomical with two special needs children. All the appointments, specialty services, gas and fast food going to and from, sensory tools and muscle strengthening equipment.
No amount of financial planning could prepare you for this adventure. We wouldn't change a single thing about our babies. We do strive each and every day to make sure they have the services and tools they need to succeed. Nothing is more important than that. Unfortunately... it costs A LOT. We thank you so much for standing with us in prayer. Jesus is our hope and strength. He blessed us with the most amazing friends and cheerleaders for our kiddos.
