Peanut needs surgery

Peanut hasn't had an easy life but she hasn't let that stop her from being the happiest dog around. She showed up at my husband's work in the middle of nowhere hurt, missing most of her upper jaw and nose, but she was still wagging that little tail and looking for cuddles.
She adapted well and came to live with us and is our little cuddle bug. She needs surgery on her hip right away and eventually she needs surgery on her face to clean up her jaw and nose and help improve her breathing. The hip is the immediate need, though, so she can get back to racing around the house instead of hopping :)
Her vet bills from the ER were $740, the bill from the surgery consult and pain meds were $130, and the surgery is a bit over $2500. She is scheduled for June 10th at a local low cost clinic. The surgeon travels between low cost clinics so he hasn't met Peanut in person but he said that on surgery day he will take a look at her nose and see if he he can clean it up--he will call with the costs to get my okay and I am hoping not only he can but I can afford it because it would improve her quality of life so much to have those dangling pieces of tissue gone! The area is sensitive and gets caught on things and is hard to clean. There are pieces of nose and matted fur and food and debris that get caught up in there. Having it removed and stitched up would make such a difference in her life :)
