Emily's breast cancer fund

This is Emily.  She's my kid sister.  Emily has breast cancer.  Aggressive breast cancer.  The doctors are confident.  That's good, right?  Their plan is “all of it”.  That’s right, hit it with everything.  Antibodies, immunotherapy, surgery, chemo, radiation, hormone therapy, etc.  The next several years will be hell for Emily.  She's scared.  Would you expect different?

Here's where it's different.  Emily is a single mom.  A badass, hard-working, love-filled single mom.  I love my niece.  She’s a senior looking forward to college.  I love them both.  Just recently Emily was able to get health insurance.  So, there's hope, right?

Here's another twist.  Over the last year or so, Emily lost nearly everything.  Lost to a toxic mold infested rent house.   Health, assets, savings, sanity…  All plundered by an ugly spore.  So, breast cancer didn’t knock Emily off her feet, it kicked her while she was down.

Emily needs to know that family, friends, community, you and me, are enough to help her back to her feet.  Her treatments have already started.  Started before the insurance even kicked in.   Debt sucks. 

We are all different.  Please do what you do.  Pray, sing, paint, meditate, plan, organize, budget, build.  Do whatever.

And then give.
