As many of you know I am a transgender man going through medical transition, a big part of that transition is coming up next month, my mastectomy, on January 14th 2020. I'm going to need about a month to six weeks to heal. I will not be able to work or function as I normally should during this time, as I will have trouble using my arms. I recently left a job working as a nursing aide in a senior living home due to chronic pain flares in my back and the wrist of my dominant hand (in addition to other chronic illnesses that I don't wish to discuss publicly), and with the surgery coming up so soon I have very little chance of finding a job until after I have recovered, which won't be until mid to late February. Unfortunately because I quit I do not qualify for the paid time off I would have received in my benefits had I stayed, so I am asking my community to please help me financially for hopefully a short amount of time while I recover, I will still have to pay for rent, utilities, transportation to appointments, food for myself and Colin (the cat), medicine, and a medical grade compression vest to be specific, thankfully medicaid is covering my operation but there may be some additional costs. Any and all help is appreciated, please donate if you can, and I would also greatly appreciate home cooked meals and help taking care of Colin as well. Thank you so much for reading and considering!
