Charles Obu-Darko was a vibrant, energetic and beautiful young man of just 12 years of age when he tragically drowned in his community pool on May 26, 2015.
As a 6th grader at Eastwood Middle School, Charles was known to nearly every staff member and student and knew no strangers. Charles moved to Indianapolis from Ghana with his sister just one year ago to be with their father.
This loss is devastating to Charles' family, both his personal family and his school family. Charles loved life and his smile would light up a room. We are reaching out to our community to help his father with costs associated to the burial, time away from work, and basic essentials as he and his daughter, Priscilla (just finished her sophomore at North Central), work through this very difficult time.
Many have asked how they can assist and at this time, financial resources are critical to the stability of this family. All amounts are welcomed and appreciated.
