On Wednesday, February 24, Violet Lemonnier, just a few months shy of her 3rd birthday,, was admitted to Long Beach Memorial Children's Hospital after exhibiting signs including shakiness and loss of balance issues. A CT scan revealed a tumor on the tectum of her midbrain, causing a blockage and creating the condition hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid on the brain. Within 36 hours of admittance, Violet underwent brain surgery, an endoscopic third ventriculostomy to create a bypass path for the spinal fluid to drain and relieve the pressure in her brain.
Violet's parents, Mary & Jason LeMonnier, are currently awaiting test results to determine the level of success of the surgery and Violet's ongoing treatment plan, including how to address the mass that was not able to be touched during surgery, due to its proximity to a major artery. The surgeon hopes the mass to be a class 1 benign tumor, for which Mom and Dad are very grateful. More will be known after it is watched for a few months with follow-up MRIs.

This family has received such an outpouring of support, shown in many ways - play dates for their other two children, a meal train, and countless prayers. It's been overwhelming. There have also been many people who have asked for ways that they can help with the unknown medical bills, which will undoubtedly be staggering. This is one way to do that.
