Amanda's Surgery

Amanda has occipital neuralgia...compressed occipital nerves that cause ongoing debilitating pain. While we are unsure of the initial insult, we suspect that her car accident in 1999 could have been what started this all. Per research, it's a well documented condition; however it has an incidence rate of only 3.2 per 100,000 people. A new procedure was developed in 2010 that actually helps 90% of people with Occipital Neuralgia.  The surgery was discovered at Cleveland Clinic by a Dr. Guyuron, which is where we plan on doing the surgery. Dr. Guyuron will perform a bilateral occipital decompression in an outpatient setting. Surgery is scheduled for Nov 20th, 2017.  The funds will be used to offset a loss of income, travel to Cleveland, hotel accomodations, and food while in Cleveland for the week. We need the funds by Dec 15th to be able to keep up with our bills.

Amanda is a highly educated health scientist with a post graduate certificate in clincial bioethics. She was a former CEO of a non-profit called City Dance where we mentored over 4,000 inner city youth.  Most importantly, she is a beloved wife and mother of three who has missed out on years of family time. Your donation is truly appreciated and will be used with the utmost respect.  We are hopeful that this procedure will give her back the life she had pulled out from underneath her. Thanks so much!
