Barkleys cancer treatment

Donation protected
Barkley is a 3 year old English Bulldog. He has been a part of our family since he was 3 months old. In August of this year we discovered a lump under his jaw, we took him to the doctors right away. They started him on antibiotics. The lump appeared to shrink.  Soon after that the lump came back larger with three other lumps. We tried a different antibiotic and anti-inflamatory meds. Barkley did not respond to the meds. Late at night on  Septemeber 4th Barkley went into respiratory distress. We rushed him right to Animal Health Care where he spent 3  days having xrays and bloodwork. His lungs were full of fluid. The Dr. sent us home with syringes of antibiotics and bags of fluid. Barkley was still  not getting any better. Dr Atwood was completely baffled as his blood work was good. Last Monday the doctor decided to aspirate fluid from Barkley's inflamed lymph nodes. Well he stopped eating Wednesday. My daughter and I have been feeding Barkley by syringe , cream of wheat . We refused to give up. This dog deserves everything we can do to help him. About an hour ago, we finally got a call from the Vet, the call we dreaded but I knew we would get. Barkley has lymphoma. He is a part of our family and we are trying to do what we can to help him . We cannot bear the thought of just putting him to sleep. There are good treatment options, however the financial burden is huge. We are not financially able to get the treatment that Barkley needs without some help. We would be so truly grateful and appreciative if you could help us even a little to try to keep Barkley a part of our family . We are going to Cape Cod Animal Hospital this week to meet with the Oncologist to see if he will have to have aggressive treatment there or less aggressive treatment here with Dr. Atwood. We would love to be able to do what it takes to cure this little guy. He just turned 3 years old May 1st. He has so much life left to live. The chances with treatment are really good that Barkley could be cured. We would like to have the opportunity to try what ever we can before we have to make the decision to put him to sleep. Please help us heal this little guy.   All money raised will be used solely for transportation and treatment in Wareham Thank you all in advance for your prayers and support. This dog means the world to us.
