Support Michelle Pernell’s Journey to a New Home

My roommate and I have come together to raise money for her mom. Michelle was badly affected by Hurricane Helene this week. As everyone knows of the damages the hurricane caused in Western North Carolina, she has lost her home. The water levels have decreased but everything has water damage and most things are not salvageable.

This is not something we would normally ask for, but she is in the middle of going through a divorce and is a small business owner. As she ran part of her business through her home all of her files have been destroyed. We recently found out that her renters insurance does not cover flooding, so she will not be getting relief from insurance. She will also not have a job for an extended period and will have to file for unemployment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All the funds will go towards a new home for Michelle and temporary housing as Asheville is being restored.
