Vanessa has always been a fighter. In the early 2000’s, she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer. As a mother of 3, she knew she needed to fight and win the battle. After a few years of chemo and radiation, Vanessa won the battle. At this time she was in 20s. Fast forward to 2019, almost 20 years after beating Hodgkins, the terrible the news came again. Vanessa was diagnosed with breast cancer. This time in her 40s, mother of 4, a wife, and a grandmother of 2 soon to be 3. She did what she does best, and she fought. Over a year of chemo, surgery and then more chemo too ensure the Cancer was all gone. But this time she fought through a pandemic. With a surgery at the same time the world went into a lock down and countless doctors appointments. No support allowed, she fought and has been fighting since. On 7/12/21 Vanessa’s doctors removed the port she was receiving chemo therapy through. She won that battle and was prepared for all follow up appointment to keep her health on the right path. Just over a week later, 7/21/21, Vanessa suffered a massive heart attack. She was on multiple forms of life support and in a coma for 10 days. Those 10 days were extremely touch and go. The doctors were very optimistic but very worried and took it minute by minute. She was showing positive signs and was brought out of her coma and her forms of life support have decreased over the weeks. Vanessa being alive is a miracle but also shows the fighter that she is. She’s been fighting to live for 20+ years. Vanessa is still in the icu, but making progress each day. Once released she will have to move onto a rehabilitation center for an unknown period of time. Vanessa tries to do her best and give to anyone who is in need. As you can imagine, this wasn’t something that could’ve been prepared for. The mental and physical burden are bad enough but adding the financial burden just makes it harder. Vanessa’s husband has been by her side each day since her heart attack, which means he has been out of work since then. We ask for continued prayers and appreciate any type of donation. All funds will go towards Vanessa’s medical bills, ensuring she receives the care she needs to fully recover. She will fight and win this battle like all prior, because she is as tough as they come. If you ever have doubt, just fight, you are tougher than you think. Thank you.
