<div>vor wenigen Tagen wurden wir, euer queer-feminitscher Space, ohne Vorwarnung zwangsgeräumt: Wir haben keinen Zugang mehr zu unseren Räumlichkeiten, das Schloss wurde ausgetauscht, ein großer Teil unseres gemeinsamen Hab und Guts wurde entwendet. Ein sicherer Raum wurde genommen, ein queer-feministisches Nest einfach weggefegt. Der Schock sitzt tief, aber Ohnmacht ist keine Option. Dafür brauchen wir in den kommenden Wochen eure Unterstützung.

<div><strong>Wie kam es dazu?</strong>
</div>
<div>Der Knoten.wien war Untermieterin bei einer Atelier Vermietungs Firma, an die wir immer pünktlich unsere ohnehin viel zu teure Miete gezahlt haben. Diese Atelier Vermietungs Firma hat jedoch seit Oktober 2023 keine Miete mehr an die Hausverwaltung überwiesen. Daraufhin wurde eine Zwangsräumung eingeleitet. Weder die Hausverwaltung noch das Gericht sind verpflichtet, Untermieter*innen über eine bevorstehende Räumung zu informieren. Das Ergebnis: Wir standen plötzlich vor verschlossenen Türen.

<div>Untermietverträge sind ein Symptom des prekären Wohnungsmarkts und setzen Mieter*innen massiven Risiken aus. Was uns passiert ist, erleben täglich viele andere in ihren Wohnräumen – das wurde uns schon bei den Kämpfen um die Wohnungen am Gaudenzdorfer Gürtel bewusst, bei denen wir uns solidarisch gezeigt haben. Eine besonders bittere Bestätigung bekamen wir von der Delogierungsfirma selbst: Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob so etwas öfter vorkommt, meinte ein Mitarbeiter lachend, dass sie täglich mehrere solcher Fälle hätten.

<div><strong>Wie geht es jetzt weiter?</strong>
</div>
<div>Wir haben bei Gericht unsere Lage eingereicht, um zu verhindern, dass unser kollektives Eigentum verkauft wird, um die Mietschulden anderer zu begleichen. Parallel sind wir im Gespräch, um ab Januar als Hauptmieter*innen in unsere Räume zurückzukehren.
</div>
<div>Bis dahin stehen wir vor enormen Herausforderungen: Unsere Gegenstände müssen wir kostenpflichtig auslösen und zurücktransportieren. Schäden müssen von uns repariert werden, und der verwüstete Safe Space muss neu aufgebaut werden.

<div><strong>Wie könnt ihr uns unterstützen?</strong>

<div>Wir werden heute mit einem GoFundMe starten, wir sind leider auf eure finanzielle Unterstützung angewiesen. Als selbstverwalteter Raum kämpfen wir ohnehin täglich mit finanziellen Engpässen. Doch die Vision eines liebevollen Ortes, den diverse linke Gruppen kostengünstig bis gratis nutzen können und wir unser Programm anbieten können, treibt uns an. <div>Wir sind ein queer-feministisches Kollektiv aus zwölf Menschen die konsensorientiert und solidarisch zusammen arbeitet. Unser Zuhause war bis jetzt in der Heinzelmanngasse 17. Unser Ziel ist es, niedrigschwellige queer-feministische Bildungsangebote in einer liebevollen Umgebung zu schaffen.

<div>Wir bieten DIY-Werkstatttage, solidarische Flohmärkte, Filmabende und mehr an. Neben unserem eigenen Programm stellen wir den Raum kostenlos oder kostengünstig für Menschen mit wenigen finanziellen Ressourcen und für linke Gruppen zur Verfügung.

<div><strong>Warum ist Raum wichtig?</strong>
</div>
<div>Für uns ist Raum ein zentraler Ort der Selbstermächtigung. Ein Raum außerhalb offizieller Institutionen gibt uns die Freiheit, Veranstaltungen flexibel zu gestalten, und schafft eine authentische, solidarische Atmosphäre mit Fokus auf Sicherheit. Unsere Konsumfreiheit, unser Inventar (von der Holz- und Siebdruckwerkstatt bis zum Fotolabor) und die vielfältigen Materialien für kreative Tätigkeiten erlauben es uns, unterschiedlichste Projekte zu realisieren.
</div>
<div>Der Raum stellt eine wichtige Grundlage für ein Zusammenkommen abseits von Hierarchien dar. Als Teil der Linken und des feministischen Kampfes bieten wir Platz für ein solidarisches Miteinander und eine Plattform, um Ideen umsetzen zu können.

<div>Damit Räume wie der Knoten.wien in den kapitalistischen Verhältnissen existieren können, braucht es unbedingt eine kollektive Solidarität und eure Mithilfe. Solche Orte ent- und bestehen nicht von allein, sondern sind das Ergebnis von gemeinsamer Arbeit und Widerstand.

<div><strong>Was macht diesen Raum besonders?</strong>

<div>Die Bemühungen einen Saferspace in unserem Raum zu kreieren, sorgt dafür, dass sich Teilnehmer*innen respektiert und wohlfühlen – essenziell, um über Themen wie Rassismus, Queerfeindlichkeit, patriarchale Gewalt und andere Unterdrückungen sprechen zu können.

<div>Selbstverwaltete feministische Räume ermöglichen basisdemokratische Entscheidungen und fördern die aktive Beteiligung aller. Sie stehen im Gegensatz zu den oft hierarchischen Strukturen offizieller Institutionen und sind unabhängig von deren Vorgaben.

<div><strong>Der Knoten.wien was evicted without warning!</strong>

<div><strong>Hello dear people,</strong>
</div>
<div>A few days ago we were evicted without warning: we no longer have access to our premises, the lock was changed, a large part of our common property was stolen. A secure space was taken, a queer-feminist nest simply swept away. The shock is deep, but fainting is not an option. We need your support in the coming weeks.

<div><strong>How did this happen?</strong>
</div>
<div>Der Knoten.wien was a subtenant of a studio rental company to which we always paid our rent (which was far too expensive anyway) on time. However, this studio rental company has not paid any rent to the property management company since October 2023. As a result, an eviction was initiated. Neither the property management company nor the court are obliged to inform subtenants of an impending eviction. The result: we were suddenly faced with closed doors.
</div>
<div>Subletting contracts are a symptom of the precarious housing market and expose tenants to massive risks. What happened to us is something that many others experience every day in their own homes - we saw this during the struggles for the flats at Gaudenzdorfer Gürtel, where we showed our solidarity. We received a particularly bitter confirmation from the eviction company itself: When we asked whether this happens more often, an employee laughingly said that they have several such cases every day.

<div><strong>What happens now?</strong>
</div>
<div>We have submitted our situation to the court to prevent our collective property from being sold to pay off other people's rent debts. At the same time, we are in talks to return to our premises as the main tenants from January.
</div>
<div>Until then, we face enormous challenges: We will have to pay to remove our items and transport them back. We have to repair any damage and rebuild the vandalised safe space.
</div>

But we are driven by the vision of a loving place that various left-wing groups can use at low to no cost and that we can offer our programme. To make this possible again, we need you!

<div>We are a queer-feminist collective of twelve people who work together in a consensus-orientated and solidarity-based way. Our home until now has been at Heinzelmanngasse 17. Our aim is to create low-threshold queer-feminist educational programmes in a loving environment.

<div>We offer DIY workshop days, solidarity flea markets, film evenings and more. In addition to our own programme, we make the space available free of charge or at low cost to people with limited financial resources and left-wing groups.

<div><strong>Why is space important?</strong>
</div>
<div>For us, space is a central place of self-empowerment. A space outside of official institutions gives us the freedom to organise events flexibly and creates an authentic atmosphere of solidarity with a focus on safety. Our freedom of consumption, our inventory (from the wood and screen printing workshop to the photo lab) and the diverse materials for creative activities allow us to realise a wide variety of projects.

<div>The space is an important basis for coming together outside of hierarchies. As part of the left and the feminist struggle, we offer space for solidarity and a platform for realising ideas.
</div>
<div>For spaces like Knoten.wien to exist in capitalist conditions, collective solidarity and your help are essential. Places like this don't emerge and exist on their own, but are the result of joint work and resistance.

<div><strong>What makes this space special?</strong>
</div>
<div>The efforts to create a safer space in our space ensures that participants feel respected and comfortable - essential to be able to talk about issues such as racism, queerphobia, patriarchal violence and other oppressions.
</div>
<div>Self-managed feminist spaces enable grassroots democratic decision-making and promote the active participation of all. They stand in contrast to the often hierarchical structures of official institutions and are independent of their guidelines.
</div>
<div>This allows us to organise our space exactly as it feels right for us.
