Home is such a special place… a place where memories are not only made, but kept. My wonderful in-laws, Steve and Nancy Martin, lost their home and all of their personal belongings in the horrific Marshall Fire that devastated all of Louisville, Colorado yesterday on 12/30/21. My husband and his brothers have lost their childhood home, something that will never be able to be replaced.
Steve and Nancy raised 3 amazing boys in their home that they have lived in for the past 32 years. It was our gathering place every week for Sunday dinners, a safe haven for their seven grandchildren to come play, and a comforting landing spot for the entire family to congregate and spend quality time together, which we did often.
Steve and Nancy (or Nana and Pops as they are known to us) are the kind of people that always had their doors open and welcomed others in without question. They treat my sister-in-laws and I like their own daughters and are the most loving grandparents you could imagine. My heart breaks for them and the others that have lost their homes in this tragic event.
Please know that they are not the ones asking for any type of help, they never would. My husband and his brothers, along with myself and my sister-in-laws, are asking for anything you may be able to donate in order to help these wonderful, kind people rebuild and restart. If you or anyone you know are able to donate, know that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please keep everyone affected by these fires in your thoughts ❤️
