HELP DERRICK WALK AGAIN

Donation protected
You meet some people in your life who just want a chance. That's Derrick. He lives for the chance to take care of himself again... to walk again. He did all that and more before Covid took hold. He worked everyday at the Atlanta airport. Enjoying the chance to meet new people. That was until the swelling started and his ankles became so swollen that he could no longer tie his work boots. Covid layoffs and the doctors stopped work. With no job and no medical insurance  it got worse, so bad that his left leg was amputated above the knee to save his life.

He lost the leg but not hope. He wants the chance to walk again, to work again.
Derrick is waiting to be processed for Medicaid and placement for a prosthetic.
He lost his apartment while recovering from surgery. As a recent amputee, he needs assistance to pay for sanitary temporary housing and some medical equipment.

He is in process with several local organizations, but this is not a speedy process with Covid and the holidays. He has attempted to gain access to free emergency housing, but they do not accommodate wheelchairs easily.  We need your help to maintain clean safe housing for Derrick while he gets the services needed to equip him to walk again.

The situation is dire. Let's come along side Derrick, and give him the support
he needs to literally, stand up for himself again.
