My good friend and former co-worker, Angie Knight, is a single mother of two boys. Angie is a wonderful, kind person who has always gone out of her way to offer assistance to anyone in need.
Angie recently was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Follicular Lymphoma and Leukemia and is currently fighting the biggest battle of her life. She has medical coverage (thank goodness) but does not have the means to pay for the high deductible nor 20% of the total cost of medical care that she is required to pay.
Angie has been undergoing treatment with radiation for several months now and after a recent MRI was told that more tumors are cropping up in her bones. Agnie’s oncologist and radiologist commented that have never seen this happen before. She now will be going to the Moffitt Clinic in Tampa in early September for evaluation. I am trying to raise enough money to help her pay for the mounting medical bills and help her with living expenses since she is unable to return to work. She has already received a bill from one of her doctors for $7,000 but not yet for her initial hospital stay and the diagnostic testing.
Angie’s wonderful co-workers at Jacobs Engineering on the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, have donated some of their vacation hours to assist with time off while having her medical treatments and to help her along with daily living expenses. However, she is going to need help to pay for these ongoing, rising medical expenses.
Angie’s fighting spirit and positive attitude will help her beat this disease, but I know she is worried about being in debt on top of everything else. Please keep her in your prayers and consider making a donation, no matter how small, to help Angie with her medical bills. She is such a fighter and so appreciative of all the support she has been given by her family and friends, but she needs a little extra help to make it through this.
