Katie's Pharmacy Goal

My name is Katie and I am a first year pharmacy school student with 2 small children and a wonderful husband.  I had to take out massive loans to pay for school and to help pay the monthly bills, mainly for our mortgage.  We bought our house from my mother at a great price, but the house is 29 year old and it needs a lot of work.  We have an issue with marsh rats chewing into the siding of our house and it needs to be replaced.  We barely scrape by with the student loans and my husband's income is not enough to help with these unexpected issues.

This year alone we have had to replace the dryer, garbage disposal, hot water heater, and I've had to get new tires on my car because one blew out on the way to my son's school.  I know that I am meant to be a pharmacist, I have worked for 6 years as a pharmacy technician.  All I want to do is to help people, but without some extra money I will have to use my loan money for the house and then I'd have to go back to full time work.  With a 10 month old and 7 year old I can't work full time and do full time school. 

On top of all of these issues my ex-husband (my older son's father) can't afford his child support any longer and is giving up his rights as a father so that my husband can adopt my son.  The lawyer bills are pretty high for all of that as well.  I am a very proud person so asking for help is foreign to me, my mother convinced me to put my story on here so that I can fulfill my dream.
