Mexico City Earthquake Relief

Donation protected
Ten years ago, my uncle, Dr. Fernando Guisa, founded FUCAM, AC. Beginning with a few mobile mammography units going into underserved communities in Mexico City to a full service Breast Cancer treatement facility with operating rooms, chemotherapy labs and nuclear medicine facilities. Since then, they have opened a clinic in Oaxaca and just broke ground for a third in Chiapas.

The earthquake that struck Mexico City last Tuesday has had devastating effects on many members of the Fucam community and several lost their homes. Others are completely without power. There are so many relief efforts in place that are doing incredible work getting funds and supplies where they are needed most but I am headed down to CDMX on Thursday to hand carry some of the items that are needed immediately, namely lanterns, flashlights, batteries, masks and work gloves. I can't bring shovels, picks, or other heavey tools with me so the remainder of the fund will go directly to Fucam to help defray the cost of some of these items. All of these things are now in short supply in Mexico and are almost impossible to procure down there.

Fortunately, my family is safe. We were raised to activate when there is need in our communtites and I am so proud of my cousins, nieces and nephews who are out there every day, helping to move rubble and provide assistance where they can. The best way I can help is through a targeted campaign like this.
