Help Michelle Fight Cancer!
BACKGROUND:
Michelle Puska, musician, sound engineer,
promoter, co-founder of Toronto’s Night Owl Festival, beloved partner, friend, daughter,
sister, & cat mom, was diagnosed with cervical cancer 18 months ago.
Despite treatment, Michelle's cancer has
metastasised and is now considered incurable. Michelle will be undergoing
maintenance chemotherapy for the
foreseeable future.
Michelle has researched and begun
alternative therapies to compliment
her chemo treatment.
There is ample evidence that such
therapies can work to help control the pain
associated with cancer and provide higher
quality of living for those battling the disease.
Moreover, there is significant research
suggesting that they both decrease the
growth of cancer cells & encourage cell death, thus leading to reduction in tumour size.
FUNDRAISING:
Including the cost of treatment, medications,
supplies, and necessary family travel,
Michelle & her partner, Travis, are facing
expenses conservatively estimated at $8500
in the coming months.

MESSAGE:
Michelle asks that we take note of her
experience & hopes that it may inspire us all to
become more vigilant around our healthcare.
She asks that we push for investigation &
answers from our healthcare providers.
She asks that we demand higher healthcare
standards from our officials, as funding cuts
are directly responsible for the reduction in
frequency of routine testing that could have
detected her initial diagnosis far earlier.
Finally, Michelle reminds us to value our
wellness, & that of our loved ones, as
paramount.
