Jones' twins medical & travel fund

Jordan and Justin Jones, and big brother Landon welcome their twin boys Wyatt and Hudson on March 18th at only 30 weeks pregnant! The boys have an expected NICU time of 6-9 weeks at Richland children's hospital here in Columbia. A few days into their NICU stay Hudson's nurse found some issues. After further testing they found two things wrong with his heart.

1. Ventricular septal defect- this is a hole in the bottom part of the heart that hasn't closed. Based on the information it is fairly common in premmies and they will just watch it to see if it closes on its own. If not there are some oral meds they can try to close it and last step is surgery.

2. Coarctation of the aorta- this is the narrowing of the main artery to the heart. It's a heart defect he would have been born with regardless of being premie and they probably would not have caught it had he gone full term. The only reason the nurse caught it was because his blood pressure was reading higher in his upper body than his lower.

So on Thursday March 24th 6 day old Hudson was airlifted to MUSC in Charleston and the following day they performed surgery. They placed a stent to open up the artery by going in through his neck. Doctors reiterated that this is temporary fix and in 6-12 months they will do the surgery that requires going in and cutting out the bad part of he artery and putting it back together which the hope is that this second surgery would completely fix the problem he just needs to be a little bigger for it. Thankfully the first surgery was a success and now they await transport back to the NICU in Columbia.

The last two weeks the Jones have traveled quite a bit back and forth from Columbia to Charleston visiting the twins in separate locations while still trying to spend time with their oldest son Landon who is only 5 years old. Being pulled in 3 different directions is hard for any parent.

With all the stress of traveling, staying in hotels, cost of food and gas, and the amount of hospital bills that are building from two NICU stays for the twins plus heart surgery for Hudson ( & one more to come) I know the Jones' would greatly appreciate any relief we could send their way. They are the most loving, giving, and caring family I know! So please let's rally around them in prayer and send a little their way to help with the building medical costs and travel expenses.

Thank you for your support for them! Please continue to pray for them as they lean on God during this time!
