USS Cook (DE/FF 1083) 2019 Reunion

Mike Baraniecki. I served onboard the USS Cook (FF-1083) from June of 1980 until September of 1983.  We're planning a reunion in July of 2019 for the Cook and I hope to raise $10,000.00 to support that effort. This fundraiser is to help defray the costs for a ship reunion to be held in San Diego, CA, from October 25th through October 27th, 2019.  Our last reunion in May of 2017 was a rousing success and we had over 75 people in attendance.  My hope for this next one is to have over 100 people attend.  It will be held in San Diego at "The Dana on Mission Bay" hotel.  The money raised through this effort will go toward costs for the various events throughout the weekend such as costs for an evening get-together on the first night, a breakfast event on Saturday and costs for a chartered bus for tours. In the case of having 100+ people attend, we would also need a second bus. Also, tickets to various venues in and around San Diego such as the USS Midway Museum and, finally, a Saturday evening dinner.  Our last reunion wound up costing $6,250.00 and we managed to raise a total of $2,750.00 which left a shortfall. I personally covered that shortfall and did so with great pleasure. But in 2019, I hope to have us break even. My wife, Deb, and I even provided "Welcome Packages" for everyone in attendance and we hope to do the same in 2019.  Please join us in contributing to a most worthwhile cause by helping to fund this effort. Each and every dollar we raise will go toward this event and others to follow. My love for the USS Cook and its crew is immeasurable. Please help me in supporting this event.
