Handicap accessible van
Donation protected
This is my husband John (Buddee) Dillashaw, he is a double leg amputee who is confined to a wheelchair and is unable to use a prosthetic. He does not leave the house except for his quarterly doctors appoinments when the transportation van will pick him up (as long as I am there to accompany him). Before he had his surgeries he loved to work in the garden and fish in the river. He also enjoyed taking trips to thrift stores, riding to Elk River Falls or the church at the bottom of our road when our grandchildren were in town to watch them fish. Now he is stuck in the house 361 days a year. A handicap accessible van would make it possible for him to have a much better quality of life. I work in a grocery store and am just able to pay our bills so I cannot afford to take on the debt that procuring such a van would entail. My goal is to raise $30,000. which would pay for this transportation and also allow me to hire someone to do some minor remodeling in our bathroom so he could get to the commode in his portable shower/commode chair instead of having to use his bedside commode. I know my friends and family are for the most part, struggling financially just as we are, I just thought this GoFundMe page might be a way to realize my goal of giving this father of 6 and grandfather of 2 an opportunity to have a life outside of laying in a hospital bed 24/7 and a better quality of life.
