USA Women's World Team 2023

Tax deductible
The USA Women's Spearfishing Team will compete in the 2023 CMAS World Spearfishing Championships on September 7-10 in Laredo, Spain. In the inaugural Women's World Spearfishing Championships held in Portugal in 2018, the USA Women's Team were Champions. At the 2nd ever Women's World Championships in Italy 2021, the Team took 2nd Place. The Women plan on working hard throughout the upcoming year to try and bring this prestigious trophy back home in 2023, but they need your help.

International spearfishing competitions are incredibly costly and time-consuming. Divers spend up to a month in a foreign country preparing for the competition and expenses add up quickly. Currently, the Team's most significant limitation is its budget. While other countries' teams have financial support from their governments, US divers must pay their own expenses, so help from the spearfishing community is essential for the Team's success and is greatly appreciated!

The Team is comprised of the best-ranked spearas in the United States: Julie Higgs (2-time individual USA National Champion & 7-time IUSA World Record holder), Nicole Burko (2nd Place Women's Team 2021 Worlds & 2-time IUSA World Record holder), Rosibel Molina (2018 Women's Team World Champion, USA National Individual Champion, & 6-time Cuban National freedive Champion), and Shelby Peterson (3-time individual USA Freshwater National Champion, 2nd Place Women's Freshwater Worlds 2021 & 6-time IUSA World Record holder).

This group of magnificent women is led by Joe Fernandez "El Magnifico" who led the 2018 women's team to a World Championship in Portugal. Joe was also captain of the men's team in the 2015 Pan American in Acapulco, the World's Championship in Greece in 2016 and Portugal in 2018.

Please consider donating to help the USA Women's Team at the 2023 World Championships. With your financial support, I'm confident the Red, White & Blue can bring the trophy back home!
