U.S. Immigration Attorney Fund

Donation protected
Mary and Seth were married in September, and since then they have been attempting to navigate both the U.S. immigration system and the N.J. family court system, so that Mary and Chili can become legal residents of the U.S. and so that Seth can formally adopt Chili.
Unfortunately, these systems are set up not to facilitate those who enter the process but rather to impede them. They are doing their best to move forward with these processes on their own, but the more they engage with the system the more it seems impossible to be successful without an attorney.
As you might know, legal fees are astronomically high, which poses a serious barrier for them. Seth is a graduate student and Mary cannot work because she is not allowed to earn money in the U.S. under her tourist visa. In fact, she and Chili have to return to Ireland every 90 days in order to prevent violating the terms of their tourist visas, which is a further drain on limited funds. For this reason, they would gladly accept any help that family and friends can offer toward raising enough money to hire a lawyer. Without one, they fear that the battle with USCIS to allow Mary and Chili to legally immigrate will be indefinitely prolonged, or even lost outright.
Whether or not you are able to make a financial contribution, Mary and Seth deeply appreciate your love and support, and they hope to someday celebrate Mary and Chili becoming U.S. citizens.
