Medical Bill Help (I hate asking for help)

Donation protected

I have a $2400 medical bill to absorb while I’m trying to finish graduate school. If I had known I was going to incur these expenses, I would have just avoided the doctor, but I was experiencing kidney stones/pain that were unusual for me and I went through my insurance so I thought it would have been covered more than it was. I really hate asking for help as I know many people are struggling now, but this is a situation that I cannot afford right now.

I have dealt with kidney stones for 13 years and this past spring they changed in presentation so I decided to see a doctor. He recommended a urologist. I went to set up that appointment and they said they wouldn’t see me without diagnostic imaging. I went through my school’s health center and found an in-network office that would do the imagining. The first time it was billed it was over $3000, but I got them to go through my insurance. It only took off the few hundred. It ended up showing that my kidneys are essentially primed for making stones, but the urologist only prescribed antibiotics and a follow up. I’ve since lost my school-subsidized insurance and will not be going back, but this bill remains.

I know this is the worst time to ask for help so I understand if it’s not possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I really appreciate it!
