As you all know my mother JaLancy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in August of 2005. My mom had always walked 3 miles every morning and evening. It got to be that while out she would fall alot and she would call us to come get her because she couldn't get up. After this going on for weeks we thought she may have a pinched nerve so she started going to the chiropractor.
After weeks of going several times a weekly and no success he suggested she see her family physician. She saw him and he immediately ordered an MRI, after the results came back he confirmed it was indeed MS. This was difficult for us to receive the news and we all saw immediate deterioration in her ability to move, think and function. With MS the immune system attacks the myelin sheath, which is the protective layer around our nerves. When this happens it is difficult to transmit nerve signals to the brain.
My mom is one of the most remarkable women one could ever have the privilege of knowing. Her devotion to God and her unwavering faith, even in the face of a deliberating disease, will continue to shine, give to and uplift those around her while keeping a smile on her face, as she has always done. The purpose of creating this page is to pay it forward. She needs our support not only now but in the future. Through the power of prayer and small donations we can make this long, hard journey a positive one and take the financial burden off her mind. The effect this disease has on her life can be lessened by a donation.
My mom has been accepted to receive a stem cell transplant in Irvine California at the Irvine Stem Cell Treatment Ctr, where they will remove some of her fat cells and harvest them back into her body. Us 3 girls will plan to travel with mom and be by her side during this procedure. While this procedure is not FDA approved it is considered experimental and not covered by insurance. The transplant costs $10,000.00 plus traveling expenses. Please donate today no amount is to small. Thank you for your love, support, and prayers :)
