Medical fund for Elizabeth

Good morning: we need some big prayers today. As a lot of you know my daughter is going through some big things right now, it started with a headache. She had headaches everyday for about 5 days, it came and went throughout the days. She assumed with allergy season and or her glasses not being worn, it would go away. Wednesday 9/9 early morning her GF woke me up and said Lizzy needs you. My first thought was that she was drunk, parent of a newly 21 year old, I didn’t know. She was vomiting and saying she couldn’t feel her arm, she was saying words but they didn’t resemble a sentence. We took her to the ER, whom shipped her to Bronson, after her second spinal tap they said it was viral meningitis, they told us there was really nothing they could do for that and sent us home. On 9/11 she came home two hours later my second daughter was in a car accident, she dislocated her ankle joint right out of her leg in the accident, after some time at the hospital and a quick surgery she was home that night. She has been recovering very well. On 9/17 Elizabeth Reann had another episode of confusing language and vomiting, took her back to Bronson, they kept her one day and sent her home again. Elizabeth being bullheaded like her mother decided we were not going to break our plans with her grandparents, so she packed her things and headed north to Ludington. She arrived at my sisters, chatted and went to bed. I Of course followed her up north, Saturday morning she took a turn for the worse, she wouldn’t talk, she could barley do anything with her arms and legs. She looked at me like a blank piece of paper. So we got her to the hospital again, explained everything, I begged her to talk to me, one of the worst feelings in the world. After they got blood, started two IVs, cathed her, had her on all machines, she spiked a fever 104, they brought that down fast as they could and then did another spinal tap to take the pressure out of her head and spine. That night we transfered to Butterworth here in Grand Rapids to the Nuero unit. She has never had an episode in the hospital, still even now, so the team here put her on 4 different medications, antibiotics, antiviral, ringer and a steroid. By Sunday evening she started to talk again and feel better. Throughout the week they did 2 MRI, CT with contrast, echo, heart monitors, blood work so many times she is bruised and battered from that. When Nuero did the MRI they were just confirming the meningitis, this is when they found leisens in her brain. They have tested her so far for MS, auto immune diseases, stroke, Eee, and any bug bite relatives. All tests so far have come back negative. Thursday night after six days they let her come home after another lumbar puncture. She came home, slept a little. My mom took her for more blood work, came home had a great evening, sister in law came and cooked us dinner, Liz had some important people stop by to see her, she sat in the hot tub and then went to bed. She started vomiting around 2, she woke me up, we headed back to the hospital. Butterworth, took her right in, admitted and back to the testing. Since Saturday she has had another MRI, EEG and today we all agreed to the Brain biopsy, they are looking for lymphoma Non-Hodgkin Cancer. They have started meds for seizures to make sure the episodes don’t continue to hurt her.

After the brain biopsy last week they have diagnosed her with Vasculitis. This is a blood vessel Auto Immune disease. For treatment she will need to stay on a high dose steroid, and chemotherapy.

We are asking for help for a couple reasons.

Transportation purposes, Elizabeth purchaseda new car before all this started, we are asking for help to keep the car for all the appointments she will now have with physical therapy, neurologists appointments, chemotherapy and regular appointments.  Anything will help at this point for payments and insurance.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and love for our family during this time.
