We welcomed Russ into our home recently and our children and other dog became attached to him instantly and he is already part of our family. He is super chill and such a sweetheart.. Today (10/7) we went out for my birthday for lunch and when we came back we found the screen broken on the back porch that he jumped through and him laying on the ground whimpering in his own bodily fluids. We could instantly see he couldn't put weight on his back left leg at all and it was just limp. He was obviously in a lot of pain. We went to the emergency vet and they told us that he has a broken femur and essentially that our only options are fix it or amputate it. They gave us pain meds and things to make him comfortable in the mean time but he essentially can't move and he's in a lot of pain. We can't afford to pay for this surgery and have spend close to a thousand at the emergency vet already. We don't want to have to surrender him so we're willing to try anything to see if we can come up with enough to get him out of pain and on the road to recovery.
