Hi! My name is Jane and my pet’s name is Luna. He and I have been living together for a bit over 3 years now and I am a recent college graduate.

Luna broke his leg overnight (spiral fracture) and I took him to the ER vet twice yesterday morning. However, he managed to take off his cast twice even inside his cage. The next course of action is surgery because he is unable to stay still in a cast for proper healing. Without it, he will suffer from chronic pain, arthritis and ultimately will need an amputation.

Unfortunately, the cost projection is about $6000, which is more than triple my monthly salary, which I am starting next month. Don’t worry, I’m looking for more jobs that will pay more.

However, as of now, I don’t have the ability to fund the surgery or the after-care (weekly bandage wraps) and am close to having to surrender him because I know that the local no-kill shelter can provide more than what I can. Our hospital asks for up-front payment and my credit card bill is higher than ever with the treatment I paid for already. Even without surgery, the number of re-casting of his leg that will be needed will be in the thousands because every time I close my eyes, he will take off his cast. All of the donations will be used to get treatment at the ER.

This is not the plan I had for us as I graduated college and I know I should have planned even more. However, I hope you also can understand the situation I am in and pray for Luna’s full recovery. Thank you ❤️
