My dog Lu got loose and went on an adventure yesterday. She’s usually pretty crazy and gets herself hurt. I’d never imagine she’d hurt herself this bad. I took her to the vet today to see what they can do. She’s getting a splint and some pain meds to help with the pain, but unfortunately, that’s not going to be enough. Her carpus is broken in a weird spot and will require surgery. If it heals how it is with the splint, the doc said it would cause problems down the line with arthritis and consistent problems and pain. She’ll need surgery within a week; otherwise, it’s going to start to heal, and she’d need to get it rebroken. The good news is it’s a clean break and didn’t puncture the skin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
