On the morning of November 22nd, Lejeune was playing in my parents’ backyard and overextended her back leg—resulting in the ligaments in that leg being torn. The veterinarian told us she will need surgery to repair the injury. She has been a trooper while we wait to hear back from the surgeon for a quote, but she’s unable to put any weight on her leg and has been struggling to get around.
We finally got the quote for the procedure on December 3rd, and it’s looking like it’ll be close to $8,000. My parents are very responsible pet owners—but the fact of the matter is that it’s very difficult to save these days, and an unforeseen bill of this size has all of us stressing out.
I understand that everyone is stretched pretty thin during the holidays, but our girl is in a lot of pain and we want to do right by her. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
